If you are anywhere remotely close to this restaurant (like within 100 miles) go out of your way to eat here! The food is incredible: good, fresh ingredients, healthy and interesting food. My dad and I had the burger and my mom had the chicken sandwich. There are lots of yummy add-ons for both (I'd recommend the green chillies) and the bun on the burger was crispy and flaky. The thing you must get is the Avocado Pie. It. Is. Incredible. It's light and fluffy, with a hint of citrus and a graham cracker crust. They also have a good (if small) craft beer selection. I didn't try the house margaritas (line or prickly pear!), but I heard they're good. There's a bit of indoor seating and a nice patio. The patio is cooled by little misters, and is nice and shady. This place is a must!

All the locals go here because staff is friendly and food is top notch. Can't beat the view of the echo cliffs across the way. Try the avocado pie. Worth every penny. Even cooler you can get a copy of the recipe. Servers have knowledge beyond food. Hikes in area, fishing, rock hounding. Cool spot great food

We had dinner and breakfast here on our recent stay. The food was excellent. Trout, a nice beer and margarita, and the salad are what I recall. Friendly staff and high quality. They also have nice misting water to keep things cool on an outdoor patio that has views of the cliffs. Breakfast was also good, with Eggs Bennedict and coffee. I would give 5 stars, except took 1 off because it is a bit pricey. Maybe to be expected for a nice place out in the middle of nowhere, but be prepared to pay a bit more.

An oasis of incredible food in the middle of nowhere. Fantastic service, our waiter knew a lot about the area.

Had dinner and breakfast here. Food was incredible. Ordered the red corn chowder to start which was great. I had the honey fried chicken, my girlfriend had fish and more. Everything was delicious. Must try the avocado pie! The beer selection was cool with local brews. The trout hash breakfast was awesome. You would never think of having this good of food in the middle of nowhere. Our waiter was knowledgable about the area and menu.

Yes, Great Food in the middle of nowhere. If you stay at the lodge, or nearby, you can also do a takeout order. We split a delish ribeye one night. Breakfast the next day was excellent. One of us had panko crusted trout and the other the corned beef hash, with a choice of hash browns, grits, as well as eggs (they know how to do poached eggs, too!). Only item that wasn't exceptional was the biscuit (kind of pale and under cooked). Boohoohoo David B, they wouldn't split your check so you gave them one star? Ridiculous.

Great place, nice music and very fine food! Starters are proper main plate, for around 13$. Stop there if you are on the way to Page!

A gem in the middle of Route 89A. Was not expecting a great lunch, friendly staff as we pulled in. The wraps were great, my son's buffalo wings were awesome. I expected truck stop style food was the appearance but was surprised. blue cheese, alfalfa, horseradish and roast beef wrap with cheddar and sweet potato fries was great. The view on the deck was great since we were able to enjoy a 75 Degree July afternoon. And the waiter was easy to talk and shoot the breeze with. I recommend if driving by!

Excellent chicken wings, and wow, the view. Good food all around. Though the service was a bit slow, but we were relaxed so no a biggie.

Um, this place is legit, like, totally legit where I'm like, "Who's this chef up here?" Where's JB (James Beard), right? Best fried chicken I've ever had. Pork shank for the wife...mwaaa (kissy sound)! Coleslaw was OUTrageous; veggies 2die4. Super friendly peeps, beeeahutiful view and a sweet puppy. Even the picky little boy loved his chicken tenders, and he's tougher than JB (mentioned above) to please!

Anyone who doesn't give this place 5 stars is completely insane. I stopped here on my way to the north rim. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, there's no civilization for an hour in any direction. I rolled into this place, checked into my room, and then ate lunch in the restaurant. This place has a more sophisticated tap list than half of the bars in the Philly suburbs I came from. The hamburger I ordered was delicious, better than the $18 Las Vegas burger I had earlier. I asked to borrow a knife to make sandwiches for my Grand Canyon trip, the server laughed and said it was no big deal. If you're in the area, this is definitely a worthwhile stop. Get out of the heat and have a beer!

Nestled at the bottom of the Vermillion Cliffs in Arizona is this place. The food here is fantastic. Had the rib eye last night with sauté vegetables and mashed potatoes Wow! Breakfast this morning was also excellent. Cliff omelet with bacon and mushrooms and a side of they most delicious pancakes. If you pass by hete and don't stop your loss truly!!!

The most delicious burger you'll find near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Mushroom Swiss Burger was delicious. I didn't add anything else, no veggies nor condiments. The staff was amazing. They were working together very well. None of the folks who worked there are from the area. There is a Motel connected and they're open from 6am-9pm daily. Restrooms were also clean & tidy in the restaurant. (sorry ladies, can only attest to the Men's RR being clean.)

Well, it has been 20 months since we ate there. My wife and I had the fish tacos and some really nice beer. Let me just say that since that day I've been trying to find fish tacos that would even be close to tasting as good as those...it hasn't happened. I've resigned myself to somehow making my own at home, but I'm still not as good yet...

I had the sesame crusted tuna with sweet potato fries, the avocado pie, and the baked brie. All were fantastic... far better than expected for the atmosphere and for the location (middle of no where). Best place to eat for miles and miles! Go here!

As you think to your self that there is probably no good restaurant off the side of this deserted highway. But you are wrong this restaurant has great service and everything served here is home made. This restaurant is a family business.I know for a fact that you will have a very good time at this restaurant. Written by HK, age 10. And definitely seconded by his Father. This place is fantastic!!!

Food was yummy, but I don't know if I'd give it 5 stars??? Nice outdoor patio area. Has clear plastic over the porch with a wood stove (probably very nice and cozy in the winter) or more open air with fans in the summer. Pretty views. Had the french toast (yum) service was pleasant as well. Will stop here again.

Please refer to my review of the Cliff Dwellers Lodge, which operates the restaurant. Way over priced, just a step better from typical greasy spoon, diner fare. So as not to be revolted by the worn, shabby depressing indoor area, and greasy odor of greasy food, eat on the patio, where you get a great view of their dusty parking lot. On the menu is a notice that they will not give separate checks to people dining at the same table. That's just plain unfriendly, unaccomodating, and especially so since many people who are staying in the motel part of Cliff Dwellers are meeting others, probably for the first time, who are going one of the rafting trips through the Grand Canyon. The rafting company books their clients at Cliff Dwellers for the night before the trip. These people might want to have breakfast or dinner together, and separate checks would be a perfectly reasonable request under those circumstances. For many people having to figure out a bill is just plain uncomfortable. But separate checks is just too hard for Cliff Dwellers! They're not there to accommodate YOU; they're their to overcharge you for nothing much, because it suits them. The bummer is that there isn't any better place around, since there isn't any other place around, so they can get away with plenty.

Great food after a day of fishing! We enjoyed the ribs then finished off with the avocado pie. Once you wrap your head around the idea of avocado pie it's totally worth it!

Cliff's menu touts itself as having "Great Food in a Magical Place." It is spot on. The food and smells that come from this remote outpost kitchen at the Grand Canyon's gateway are as incredible as you will eat anywhere. Chef Vanessa, a recent Scottsdale Culinary school grad and who hails from nearby Bitter Springs on the Navajo Nation, and Chef Sheila produce a wonderful array of lunch and dinner food from Rack of Lamb, King Crab legs, Steaks, BBQ to Ahi. The best Ahi I've eaten: Five Spice and Sesame Encrusted served rare on a bed of Wasabi Cream pared with a Mango Coulis. Magical and addicting.

Surprisingly decent burger and fries in the middle of no where. Grilled chicken was a little dry to my standard. 4 stars for eating out on a patio with the gorgeous mountain view in front of you.

Incredible food, great beer (some local microbrew selection), and friendly staff. The brisket was amazing, as was the ribeye. Nachos for appetizers with chili was also delicious.

Being apprehensive, I decided to stay at the Cliff Dwellers lodge. The first time wasn't received well, but since they remodeled, it was pretty good considering the location. My friend, Dean and I decided to try the restaurant out and so I decided to try their ribs. The meat literally fell out the bones and I've never had ribs so delicious. Our first waiter had such a sense of humor and enjoyed his joking around. The food we had while we were in Marble Canyon was top notch. My compliments to the chef! Gotta go back there soon!

So you're at this little "hole in the wall" restaurant out in the middle of nowhere. Behind you, the Vermillion Cliffs rise mightily skyward... in front of you, the Colorado River carves its way toward the Grand Canyon. You, my friend, are enjoying a heaping plateful of New Zealand rack of lamb with Dijon herb sauce; your tablemates are savoring pan-seared ahi tuna, falafel wraps, clams sauteed in white wine, maybe complimenting your meal with a glass of fine wine or imported beer. Can you believe that you're enjoying this amazing food in one of the most remote corners of the Southwest? Welcome to Northern Arizona's best kept secret: The Cliff Restaurant at Cliff Dweller's Lodge! The Cliff Dweller's Lodge is one of three small family-owned hostels situated about 90 minutes away from the Grand Canyon's North and South Rims and about 1 hour away from Lake Powell. The Cliff Restaurant is one of those hidden gems that is loved by both locals and tourists who are fortunate enough to stumble upon it (or get turned onto it by us Yelpers!). The Cliff offers a surprisingly sophisticated menu in a relaxing and unpretentious atmosphere - talk about the best of both worlds, eh? The restaurant itself is small, so reservations, while not required, are suggested. In the warmer months of the year, there's a nice covered patio you can sit at, although flies can be a problem when it gets really hot (which it does in summertime). During the winter months, they're only open certain days of the week, so there again, call before you go. This place is popular with the fly-fishing crowd. About 12 of us workmates recently went there for our annual Christmas party. Due to the time of year, they only had 1 waiter working the floor and 1 cook in the kitchen, and it was busy despite it being off-season. Service was a little slow, but the food, once it arrived was delicious. Most of the gang got the baby back ribs, and I'm not a big rib fan, but I think I'll try those next time I go. Everyone said they were tangy, sweet and tender. My partner got a rib-eye steak and I chose fish-n-chips with sweet potato fries. Really good and plentiful portions, too. Due to the logistics of getting food and supplies down to this location, prices are a little high in comparison to other local eateries, but I have no objection for paying a little more for a memorable meal in an unforgettable location. Check it out next time you go to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Lake Powell, etc.

What a great surprise in the middle of a long car trip! From a great Caesar salad to fries to avocado pie.

After fly fishing in the sun all day the Cliff Dwellers Restaurant welcomed us with cold beer and a really great cheeseburger. You could smell the char-grilled meat in the air as we arrived. Building my own burger out of the ample options gave me an Arizona appropriate jalepeno and pepper jack extravaganza. Highly recommend.

this is, hands-down, no questions asked, without-a-doubt, my most favorite restaurant. when g and i go anywhere near the north rim or are camping at lee's ferry for the weekend there's a mandatory trip to cliff dwellers on the agenda. why, you ask? simple: - really, really solid food. - awesome landscape. - a nice, stiff drink. the vodka pour in my vodka tonic is always heavier on the vodka. the servers are friendly, efficient and used to dealing with weary people that have spent the day fishing on the ferry. when i get off the water, i like a stiff drink. the day has been frustrating - i'm more clumsy than graceful - and it is hard work to be standing in the river fighting against the current. so bring on the vodka! but the food is really where it's at. the menu is eclectic and impressive - not what you will expect when you see the place. i order my favorites over and over ... the ribs are the best. ever. the burgers are good too. the beer battered halibut is another excellent choice. fries are crispy. i have yet to try breakfast. i am blessed (or is it cursed?) to travel with very, very intense fishermen. we're generally on the water by sunrise. breakfast is not really an option. the clientèle great, especially if you're fishing. the river guides often eat here, and you may get some fishing tips out of them. sit on the patio if the weather will allow - the people watching can be superb. even if you're just passing through stop, relax and have a good meal.

Reading previous reviews I had high expectations. This place is good for the area, but not really amazing. No lamb chops or clams as mentioned in previous reviews, just slightly above average American food. Nothing too exciting or creative.

Great food and reasonable price in and unbelievable location! We ate 4 meals here and all were excellent. I wish this restaurant someplace near where I live as I would frequent it often. Between the 4 of us we probably had 8 different meals and all were terrific! Highly recommended if you're ever in the area.

This was my first time eating at The Cliff Dwellers Restaurant, but my buddy who took me up there for some fishing on the river was raving about the food. He was absoultely Right! I had the Ribeye steak the first night, and the Top Sirloin and the King Crab the second night, and both nights were absoultely perfect. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the salads may have been the freshest salad I have had at a restaurant in a long time. They have a great variety of different dishes, and they are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The service was awesome and the servers had really good personalities. The Chef is Top Notch! Did I mention they had Arrogant Bastard On Tap! If you are ever in that area for fishing or to just get away from Phoenix, you need to eat at The Cliff Dwellers. I think I am going to try the breakfast the next time I get up there, and will of course be back for dinner. Looking forward to my next trip up to Lee's Ferry and Hitting up The Cliff Dwellers Restaurant.
